Appellant (Johnson) and Baldridge attempted to steal Michael's wallet and cash. Appellant first encountered Michael while Michael was at a bar intoxicated, drinking and paying with cash. Appellant accompanied Michael to a "topless" bar where Baldridge, appellant's girlfriend, worked. Appellant and Baldridge then accompanied Michael to a motel room for which Michael paid. Michael, concerned about the safety of his property, secured a safety deposit box at the motel and placed his wallet, including almost $400.00 in cash, inside. Then they all went to room 103, immediately upon entering the motel room, appellant and Baldridge commenced their assault on Michael. Appellant and Baldridge assaulted Michael so severely that he lost consciousness...

Charles Ninow and Clara Chon will be presenting a series of works that could perhaps, be best described as excerpts from a greater work of fiction. Individual, framed accounts of a greater, thinking whole. Slogans that wouldn't seem out of place on the cover of a self help book. Scenes where detritus, wear and tear are evident but do not interfere with function. Walking around, stringing together a code to live by from graffiti on bathroom doors, trashy headlines, the things people write in the dust on old machinery. They present two distinct perspectives, united in a common goal. A strive for some semblance of day-to-day balance. A way of doing things that works...
