WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Three weeks ago RM was robbed and two flatscreen monitors and three media players were taken. The thieves even stole the cover off the cushion on our benchseat, which Andrew Barber’s mum kindly made for us many years ago!

Fortunately we have insurance, but unfortunately the excess is $1000 and we’re currently entering a period where we’re running without funding. And to make matters worse, the screen and media players were on loan from another institution, so we urgently need to cover the costs. And that $1000 to replace the equipment might mean closing the gallery for a while unless we can find another way to raise the funds.

So we have asked a number of artists to donate works for a one-night fundraising show. Following in the footsteps of Enjoy’s annual fundraisers, all works will be $100, sold on a first in, first served basis, and available for take-away on the night.

We’ll also be running a raffle and serving some of RM’s famous refreshments, so come along anyway, even if you haven’t got $100 burning a hole in your pocket.

In keeping with secret identities of the behooded burglars (without whom this event wouldn’t have been possible) all works will be exhibited anonymously, and no names will be revealed until after the purchase has been completed (kind of like an all-ages Muka Youth Print show)

Any money raised beyond the $1000 excess fee will be used to cover the costs of a security system, and any leftovers will go towards the shows that happen in this period without funding.
