Duas Cidades is an exchange between a group of five New Zealand and four South American artists to form a ‘single exhibition’ that occurs in two different galleries in two different cities at the same time: RM in Auckland, New Zealand and VEREDAS-SP in São Paulo, Brazil.

Shape Analysis

Shape Analysis has been informed by the process of mapping RM’s internal electro-magnetic fields such as telluric currents, man-made electrical currents and electromagnetic radiation, ley lines, and geopathic stresses. Site-specific geometric form has been generated in response to the mapping of these boundaries between points. In doing so, Shape Analysis is a process of thinking through space, and testing the nature of perception.… Continue

Expanded Map (1) was held in May 2013 with artists Phil Dadson, Amelia Harris, Yolunda Hickman, Thomas Hinton, James Wylie, Gigi Scaria, Paul Janman and Scott Hamilton. We are looking for the residue of this first show to continue into the second. A publication made in conjunction with Index and RM that will bring all the art and artists together will be published and distributed during EM (2), as we wish to include installation shots from the second show.

The relationships between people are reflected in and reinforced by the characteristics of urban space – gardens, parks, streets, houses. This project concentrates on urban spaces as spaces without a sense of being fixed, as they are experienced by the newcomer. Dieneke Jansen and Biddy Livesey draw on their shared-but-separate experiences of living as an artist-in-residence in the neighbourhood of Oud Charlois, Rotterdam, to create a dialogue about the potential for space being used in expected and unexpected ways, and the interactions exploring these possibilities creates within a community.… Continue
